Our Work

We work where the need is greatest, using a grassroots approach to address the root causes of exclusion. Our strategy is built upon five interconnected pillars designed to foster sustainable change.

SODECA empowers marginalized communities to understand, claim, and defend their rights while promoting civic awareness, public participation, and accountability. Through legal empowerment and community action, it helps turn constitutional promises into lived realities for those often left behind.
SODECA advances health, sexual and reproductive rights, and safe water access by strengthening local systems and expanding essential services. It works with communities to prevent disease, improve wellbeing, and protect dignity in places where care and clean water are hardest to reach.
SODECA promotes equality and safety by confronting harmful norms, preventing violence, and supporting the rights of women, girls, and other marginalized groups. It works to create inclusive communities where everyone can participate, lead, and live free from discrimination.
SODECA responds to crises with emergency support and long-term recovery solutions that protect dignity and restore hope. By strengthening preparedness and resilience, it helps vulnerable communities withstand shocks and rebuild stronger after drought, floods, conflict, or displacement.

Our Theory of Change

Through a Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA), SODECA strengthens the knowledge, skills, confidence, and collective agency of rights-holders to participate meaningfully in decisions that affect their lives, influence public policy and resource allocation, and hold duty-bearers accountable for delivering equitable, quality public services.
